First Lady Karen Waldbillig Kasich presented a check to OASHF and its member foodbanks in support of weekend backpack programs. The First Lady selected OASHF as one of the charitable organizations to receive remaining transition funds from the Kasich-Taylor New Day Committee, Inc. The check for $95,000 will provide a total of 20,000 backpack meals to children who participate in weekend backpack programs. Each program is privately funded and connects identified children who receive free and reduced priced meals during the week with food over the weekend.
