Help Children - Back Pack Program
This locally funded program provides carriers of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to elementary students who receive free lunch at school, to take home on weekends when other resources may not be available. We distribute over 2,500 carriers every week to students referred to the program by teachers, school nurses or counselors in Fairfield, Lakota, Hamilton and New Miami school districts. These students have been identified as being in crisis, needing intervention and a common factor amongst these students is food insecurity. We need volunteers to help assemble the carriers with 11 – 14 items. Volunteers should be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 20 pounds.
